The Department of Education in partnership with STI, its network of schools, and the STI Foundation will launch the first ever Voice of the Youth – National Oratorical Competition on November 18, 2010 at the STI Academic Center , Fort Bonifacio, Global City Taguig. This competition is intended to be an annual academic competition that aims to promote critical thinking and fluency in the use of English amongst select high school students from different private and public schools nationwide.
The Voice of the Youth – National Oratorical Competition gives the younger generation of Filipinos a venue to express their thoughts and opinions especially on this year’s theme “Change I Want to See Begins with Me: Becoming the New Filipino.” Participants are asked to write original orations on how they perceive the theme and what is relevant, helpful and inspiring to them. As an educational institution, we aim to develop necessary skills among students which will help them become competitive professionals and globally proficient communicators of their time…”

The 6,000-strong delegation of STI made waves in the 5k category of the recently concluded A Run for the Pasig River 10.10.10. A second time participant, Team STI now outgrew the less than a thousand participants who joined in last year’s Pasig River Run.
The 6,000-strong delegation of STI made waves in the 5k category of the recently concluded A Run for the Pasig River 10.10.10. A second time participant, Team STI now outgrew the less than a thousand participants who joined in last year’s Pasig River Run.
Students, faculty, and staff from 14 STI Colleges around the Metro which include Caloocan, Cubao, Fairview, Global City, Las Piñas, Makati, Marikina, Muñoz-EDSA, Novaliches, Parañaque, Quezon Ave., Recto, Shaw, and Taft, showed their commitment to ABS-CBN Foundation’s advocacy to raise awareness and funds for the rehabilitation of the ailing Ilog Pasig which plays a vital role both in our past and present ecological setup as it is a source of water and the lifeline of Laguna de Bay.
Marissa Gamalo, a 4th year BSIT student from STI College-Fairview, shares that she has realized how she was able to contribute to a bigger cause by actively participating in fun runs and other activities such as this. She also said that this activity has compelled her to assume an active role in the advocacy because of her increased awareness of the current state of Ilog Pasig.
Following STI’s 27th anniversary theme “Citizen STI,” STIers who joined the record-breaking run last Sunday was able to practice how they can be a true catalyst for social change.
STI also partnered with ABS-CBN Foundation and served as the official data encoders of registrants, tally officials during the actual event, and also provide significant logistical requirements needed for the success of the 10.10.10 Pasig River Run.

Get Ready
(STI Theme)
Ooh Better Get Ready
Get Ready For A Brighter Day
Ooh Better Get Ready
Na Na Na Na Na
Everybody Come Listen Up Now, Yeah
Gotta Let You Know What Life Is All About
Never Be Afraid Let Your Feelings Show, No No
Nothin’s Wrong When You Keep Dreaming On
But You Gotta Let Your Heart And Mind Be One
Hold Your Head Up High Don’t Be Insecure
Na Na Na Na Na
Refrain:
Hold On To Your Dream, Don’t Throw It (All) Away
Never Let Go Of It Come What May
Chorus:
Together We Will Fly
We’ll Never Say Goodbye
To Dreams That Lead Us To
A Better Me And You
The Future Looks So Bright
If We Just Hold On Tight
Tomorrow We Will See
The Best That We Can Be (Yeah)
(Tomorrow We Will Bring
A Better Song To Sing)
Ooh Better Get Ready
Get Ready For A Brighter Day
Ooh Better Get Ready

25 Years of Real-Life Education
Four visionaries saw the increasing demand for computer professionals as an inspiration to set up a training center that will help strengthen the foundation of the then booming industry of information technology (IT).
On August 21, 1983, well-respected entrepreneurs and friends, Augusto C. Lagman, Herman T. Gamboa, Benjamin A. Santos and Edgar H. Sarte, came together to set up Systems Technology Institute – a training center that delivers basic programming education to professionals and students.
Starting with just two IT schools in the early 1980’s, STI now provides ICT-enhanced education to more than 100 campuses here and abroad. Its programs include courses in Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Engineering, Healthcare, Business & Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, and Education.
STI has expanded its network to provide education at the basic, secondary, and tertiary levels. And with 19 schools offering a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, STI is one of the largest networks of nursing colleges in the Philippines.
For twenty-five years since its establishment, STI has transcended beyond ICT, beyond education, and beyond the Philippines.
